I opened my email this morning to find an acceptance letter from Simply Hygiene! This was completely unexpected. I applied a year ago and have heard nothing. They have a huge backlog of applicants and got to mine.
Simply Hygiene
Simply Hygiene provides body soap, conditioner, deodorant, laundry detergent, lotion, maxi/mini pads, shampoo, tampons, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and wipes. Its mission is to empower people with essential hygiene products that promote health and hope.

Why Hygiene?
New residents often arrive at IVY with nothing: the clothes on their backs, the food in their belly, and their I-9 documents. They arrive carrying their life in a single box or duffle bag.
I have pretty much figured out how to house people in recovery, but I don’t have the funds to feed, clothe, and provide for the basic hygiene items. This is the point in conversation when someone will mention the Mobile Hygiene Pantry.
Pantries are a great service for the public but they do not look kindly on an organization like mine. If I show up they will give me enough for 1-2 people. I serve 40-45 people on a monthly basis. I don’t have time to drive to pickup supplies that serve only 1-2 people.
Finding new partners is always a exciting moment.
